Beazer’s Garden provides fun, educational, ecology-based workshops, giving students the tools to understand their role and relationship to the environment. Providing “Re-Building Blocks” that help students connect their home life, school life and their developing sense of self.
Our EnviroScience and STEAMGarden workshops are aligned to city and state educational standards, and give your students hands-on, interdisciplinary experiences that last a lifetime!Â

Garden Education
Students build skills in the science, form and function of nature

Whether indoors or outdoors, in containers, or in raised beds, gardens provide opportunities to engage the whole body and mind. We explore with all senses and learn about the science and magic of plants!
We build cognitive connections in language arts, science, math, and social studies. We also build valuable kinesthetic abilities, as we learn by doing.
In these workshops students learn about:
- Urban Agriculture
- Ecology 101- People, Plants & Animals
- Gardening 101- Botany/Horticulture skills
- Insect & Plant ID
- Organic/Edible/Ornamental/Native Plants
- Container, terrarium, raised bed, rooftop and window farm planting
- Ethnobotany - The study of the human ~ plant connection in history

Wellness
Students learn the importance of self care

Social Emotional Learning and Wellness is the holistic care for the body, mind, and spirit. Spending time on wellness, shifts our mindsets, and allows the body to function better.
Participants are then better able to engage in educational or work activities, as they develop self-awareness, self-control, self-expression, and social-cooperative skills.
In these workshops students practice:
- Social-Emotional & Mental Health
- Learning about Herbs & Medicinal Plants
- Managing our energy to keep our bodies healthy
- Yoga/Meditation: Active Movement and Physical Fitness
- Using natural materials in creative ways
- Activities for Eco Festivals, Green Markets, Community Health Day Events, Staff Wellness and Corporate Volunteer Days
Green Infrastructure & Sustainability
Learn what happens when plants and architecture come together.

Green Infrastructure like green roofs, green streets, rain gardens and bioswales, lower city air temperatures reducing the heat island effect, insulates and protects the longevity of roofs, controls Stormwater runoff, creates habitat for animals and insects, AND beautifies the city!
Our workshops instill a sense of responsibility and environmental stewardship in the next generation and empower participants to be a viable part of the solution.

- Understanding urban logistics and infrastructure
